Ivresse de l'aube
When French melody, one of the most subtle of art forms, meets the most concise forms of Japanese poetry, the Haiku and the Waka, the result is a mesmerising kaleidoscope of colour. The scenes described in these ancient Japanese poems have inspired the imagination of French composers for over a century. It is the emotional force that emanates from these writings that is the primary reason for the genesis of this CD of Franco-Japanese melodies.
