Madre Tierra
POLiTi TRiO
Melodies to make the roofs dance, tunes to make the sidewalks of Buenos Aires weep, rhythms to make you forget the night and dance the joy until the morning.
Adrien Politi is a composer who has come all the way from Buenos Aires with his music, his dreams, his nostalgia and his poetry. He's also a guitarist who knows Argentina inside out.
And as good fortune never comes alone, his blood has given birth to two exceptional musicians, his children. Sébastien, the rhythm in his skin, holds the intractable pulse of the Argentine heart on his electric bass; Alma, the aptly named, makes the soul of her cello sing to the very limits of tenderness and sensitivity.
All the tracks on this album have Spanish names, and the Politis are the original soundtracks. They bear the stamp of Argentina in its most bewitching form, thanks to the tango we think we know, to the waltz that is reinvented here at every step, to the secret charms of the milonga and chacarera. The harmony is reassuring, but the exoticism astonishing. All the more so as the Politi palette includes accents of contemporary music and even rock.
Welcome to the Madre tierra, the Mother Earth of origins, the planet of music.
