Couleurs d'Amérique
Loyal to their artistic approach since their creation in 2004, the Or Notes Brass Quintet presents us here with new works set alongside repertoire pieces and transcriptions. Their encounter with the argentine composer Gustavo Beytelmann in 2010 inspired them to explore the music of South America, from Astor Piazzolla and his Four Seasons to Karol Beffa and his warm, poetic description of Buenos Aires. North America is not left out, with the famous Rhapsody in Blue by Gershwin, in a version more free than ever before, unbridled and sensuous, played by the talented pianist Julien Gernay. This CD, performed by the most award-winning brass quintet of it’s generation (with four first prizes in international chamber music competitions in Munich, Passau, Paris and Lyon), is marked by sunshine and passion but also tenderness and poetry...
