Lume Project
The Lume Project is the result of a collaboration between classical saxophonist Émilie Heurtevent and jazz saxophonist David Fettmann. Their friendship inspired them to work together on a shared artistic project that would fuse their musical identities. Their sound worlds quickly showed that they could serve as a bridge between their aesthetics; in particular those of the "colourist" composers such as Claude Debussy and Gabriel Fauré.
For the arrangements and compositions, they enlisted Xavier Sauze, who is also the group's drummer. Creator of an airy music, whose colours and sound textures are reminiscent of those of Maria Schneider when used for big band, he has established himself as the cornerstone of the made-tomesure music for this atypical project.
The repertoire of this first album mixes the language of jazz and classical music with the current music influences of the members of the group. It is made up of original compositions and arrangements by Xavier Sauze.
