Secrets
Jean-Samuel Bez, violin
Raphaël Béreau, guitar
Dedicated entirely to French music from the turn of the 19th to 20th centuries, our cycle of arrangements explores the multitude of colours that the combination of guitar and violin can offer. Our special selection focuses on pieces written with chords and arpeggios that lend themselves naturally to the guitar. The different types of chord, the fragility of playing in harmonics, the rasgueado and even percussive sounds on the guitar, serve every nuance of the score, adding variety and depth. The guitar, with its Spanish warmth so dear to the French in that period, also reinforces the intimate character of the ensemble, particularly in the pieces where delicacy is at the heart of the musical expression.
