Dialogues

It is with great pleasure that I present you with this new album "Dialogues". It has been a long-term project and brings together on disc two masterpieces by Pierre Boulez: "Domaines" in its original version with ensemble and "Dialogue de l’ombre double" (dialogue of the double shadow) which is a direct offshoot. It is a dialogue between two pieces written 17 years apart which illustrates perfectly the evolution of the style and thought process of the composer, framed itself by two emblematic pieces of repertoire for solo clarinet, "Assonance" by Michael Jarrell and "Bug" by Bruno Mantovani. Here is an intergenerational dialogue between composers of different aesthetics but unified by a mutual artistic respect and the conviction that the clarinet is the ideal medium for their discourse.
